Polish President Andrzej Duda announced Tuesday that he will sign the country’s controversial Holocaust bill outlawing people from saying that Poland was complicit in the crimes of Nazi Germany during World War II. According to the bill, violators of the law will either be fined or given a jail sentence for up to three years. This include phrases like “Polish death camps,” and other terms that imply that the country was willfully involved in the Holocaust. After the president signs the bill, it will be delivered to the country’s constitutional tribunal for review. This comes as Israel has been feuding with the country, with Israeli officials accusing Poland of trying to “rewrite history,” CNN noted.
