Get ready to eat some of that fried butter at the state fair, Hillary Clinton. The former Secretary of State had 89 percent favorability rating, according to a Des Moines Register poll released on Sunday. What’s more, just 7 percent of voting-age Democrats have a negative view of Clinton. But it’s not all good news for Clinton: she has a 59 percent unfavorable rating among Republicans, meaning a general-election victory in the crucial swing state could be difficult. On the Republican side, Paul Ryan is “wildly popular” in Iowa, polling with 73 percent favorability. Mike Huckabee, the surprise winner in 2008 of the Iowa caucus, has a 68 percent favorability rating, following by 2012’s winner, Rick Santorum, who has a 58 percent favorability rating.
