Pooper Scooper Charged for Posing as Secret Service Agent

A man who runs a pooper-scooper business has been charged with pretending to be a U.S. Secret Service agent to try and impress women on online dating sites. Christopher Diiorio, 53, admitted to the allegations against him in federal court Thursday, saying he’d purchased phony Secret Service identification credentials for $100 from a Chinese website. Diiorio, a Pennsylvania resident who owns a service company that scoops up pet poop, Doodle Scoopers, told the court he was undergoing counseling “over this situation” and marital issues. Authorities were tipped off to Diiorio’s scheme after he pulled out a Secret Service badge during a traffic stop, telling the officer “he was a U.S. Secret Service agent who had just returned from the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.” According to prosecutors, the name listed on the badge matches that of a real Secret Service agent. But Diiorio also used the bogus badge to pose as a federal agent on dating sites. He now faces as much as five years in prison for fraudulently using the official seal. His sentencing date is scheduled for March 9.
