Despite the state’s super chill reputation for legalizing marijuana, Washington has some pretty complicated regulations regarding ganja. Just a week after marijuana legalization went into effect, pot delivery businesses are pushing boundries within the nuances of the state’s law. Currently, it is only legal to buy pot grown by licensed producers at licensed retail shops. However, delivery services are sprouting like weeds (pun intended) in Washington and Colorado, where marijuana can only legally be distributed in licensed dispensaries. New businesses, like Seattle-based Winterlife, let customers order online and have pot delivered to a location convenient for them. The deliverers also use pseudonyms and take other precautions, reflecting the company’s shaky ground. Still, one delivery man who goes by the name of “Jackrabbit” says the risks are well worth the rewards. “It’s an opportunity that should not be missed.”
