A Columbia University professor has issued a retraction for a published study that said a 20-minute conversation with a gay person can change a voter’s mind on same-sex marriage. Attempts to replicate the findings led to the discovery that his grad student co-author faked some results. “I am deeply embarrassed by this turn of events and apologize to the editors, reviewers, and readers of Science,” said Prof. Donald Green.
