Venezuelan pro-government demonstrators stormed the legislature on Wednesday and attacked lawmakers who oppose President Nicolás Maduro. Security officials on the scene allegedly did little to block the protesters from gaining access to the building. A photo from the scene showed one legislator’s face and suit bloodied, and at least 15 people were injured in the incident. According to The Washington Post, journalists inside the building were also attacked and some of their equipment was stolen. Maduro has assailed his detractors, accusing them of promoting terrorism.
