The Obama fundraising lion roared in March, even in the GOP-dominated shadow land of super PACS. Pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action took in $2.5 million in March, nabbing its single largest donation from New York philanthropist Amy P. Goldman, who forked over $1 million to keep Obama in the White House. Democrats haven’t been as enthusiastic about super PACs as their Republican counterparts, but giving patterns in March may indicate that the tide will turn. Priorities USA brought in twice as much last month as American Crossroads, founded by Karl Rove.
