Thoroughly disgraced French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn may have been involved in rape, said a French prosecutor who’s opening a preliminary investigation into the allegations. The prosecutor is responding to requests by judges in Lille, France, to look more closely into allegations of sexual crimes after probing a prostitution ring in the city. The allegations under investigation state that the former head of the International Monetary Fund may have engaged in rape during a sex party at a Washington, D.C., hotel during his tenure at the IMF. Sixty-three-year-old Strauss-Kahn has responded by saying that any activities he engaged in were consensual, and that he never used violence.
