Proenza Schouler’s Spring Summer 2012 collection, which showed during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night, was a tour-de-force of color and texture. It was inspired by the Googie Architecture of the 1940s: a style born from Southern Californian car culture that came to encompass everything from the Seattle Space Needle at the World’s Fair to The Jetsons.
