Prosecutors: Bland’s Death Was Suicide

A preliminary autopsy has ruled the death of Sandra Bland has been ruled a suicide, according to Waller County, Texas prosecutor Warren Diepraam. Examiners found no defensive injuries on her hands or damage to her trachea and esophagus. The autopsy reports no bite marks or other injuries on her face associated with a violent struggle. Bland’s death, which came days after her arrest for a simple traffic violation, has caused anger nationwide and raised suspicions about the nature of her death. According to a report obtained by CNN, guards at Bland’s jail failed to do timely checks on inmates.
