In court documents released Thursday, prosecutors allege that George Zimmerman pursued Trayvon Martin and provoked a confrontation with the Florida teen. The latest allegations will likely be used as an affidavit supporting a second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman, who plans to plead not guilty, his new attorney said today. The affidavit claims that Martin was on the phone with a friend, a witness who “advised that Martin was scared because he was being followed … and didn’t know why.” At this point, Martin allegedly started running and Zimmerman chased him down, provoking a physical struggle. Zimmerman’s arraignment is set for May 29.
