R. Kelly denies allegations that he is holding women in an abusive cult, his lawyer said in a Monday statement, after three sets of parents told BuzzFeed that the musician had "brainwashed" their daughters under the pretense of helping their music careers. "Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him,” Kelly's lawyer said in a statement. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
