During a speech at George Washington University on Thursday, Rand Paul lambasted the suggestion that there needs to be more surveillance in the United States after the Paris attacks. "So when they stand up on television and say the tragedy in Paris means you have to give up your liberty, we need more phone surveillance—bullshit!" he said to uproarious applause in the room.
