Rand Paul Recovering From 6 Broken Ribs After Home Assault

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is recovering from six broken ribs and a buildup of fluid in his lungs—known as a pleural effusion—after being assaulted by a neighbor last week while mowing his lawn. The GOP lawmaker tweeted the final medical report after it was initially reported that he had suffered five broken ribs. The senator’s neighbor has been charged with assault, which his lawyer said was part of “a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial” and had nothing to do with politics.
