Rand Paul wants to make sure any U.S. senators from Kentucky who want to be president in 2016 can keep their seats. Paul asked the leader of the Kentucky state senate, Damon Thayer, to push a new bill that would let him run for both his Senate seat and the White House at the same time. Thayer said, "The purpose of the bill will be to make clear that Rand Paul or anyone in a similar situation in Kentucky can run for both offices in the same year."
