HANDOUT
The Red Cross remains stalled in the city of Homs as Syrian troops have refused to let them into Baba Hamr for a seocnd day. On Friday, a convoy carrying aid was inexplicably blocked from entering the beleaguered neighborhood. Now, they claim the area is being cleared of "booby traps". An International Red Cross spokesman said they were continuing negotiations. Meanwhile, there have been reports of execution-style killings in the region and shelling in other areas of Homs. Adding to the violence, a suicide bomber killed two people and wounded others in the southern town of Deraa on Saturday, according to the Syrian state news agency. Opposition activists denied any connections to the explosion but could not give an explanation for the reported attack.
