Is Michele Bachmann heeding Sarah Palin’s advice? The Minnesota congresswoman canceled her trip to South Carolina, where the third primary election to determine the GOP nominee for president will be held. Bachmann has also called a news conference for later Wednesday morning, presumably to announce her departure from the race. According to a senior Republican official, the Bachmann "doesn't see a way forward in her campaign for the GOP nomination and will make an announcement to that effect this morning." After starting off strong in Iowa, her native state, with a win in this summer’s straw poll, Bachmann's chances of winning took a serious dive Tuesday night when she came in sixth place in the Iowa caucus.
