Former FBI Director James Comey reportedly told Attorney General Jeff Sessions that he did not want to be left alone with President Donald Trump. According to The New York Times, the request came just a day after Trump reportedly asked Comey to end the investigation into his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. During their conversation, according to the Times, Comey wanted to ensure that the Trump administration was not trying to influence the FBI’s work, but Sessions could not assure Comey that the president wouldn’t try to speak with him alone again. Comey, who reportedly did not tell Sessions that Trump wanted him to end the Flynn probe, is slated to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
