Multiple sources told Page Six that Megyn Kelly could unseat Savannah Guthrie as the co-anchor with Matt Lauer on the Today show. Kelly is set to join NBC in September. “NBC is not paying Megyn $12 to $15 million a year to be on at 9 a.m. The word is that Savannah could take the 9 a.m. slot and Megyn will go right in at 7 a.m. Andy Lack is completely behind all of this,” a source told the paper, adding, “There’s no way Megyn would have signed with NBC unless she was promised a big role down the line.” Guthrie is currently out on maternity leave. Kelly left Fox News after covering the 2016 presidential election there. Noah Oppenheim, senior vice president of NBC News, responded to the claims saying: “Let me say this for the last time and as clearly as possible: This is never ever going to happen.”
