It looks like America's favorite statistician is taking his talents to sports. Nate Silver, whose blog FiveThirtyEight gained fame during the last two presidential elections, is leaving the New York Times and moving his blog to ESPN, according to ESPN employees who know Silver's plans. The career move comes with expanded responsibilities: in addition to blogging and running numbers, he will likely be a regular contributor on Olbermann, Keith Olbermann's upcoming ESPN2 late-night show, and appear on ABC News in guest spots during elections. Although ESPN and Silver both declined to comment on Friday, the anonymous employees claim the deal could be announced as early as Monday.
