The Treasury Department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis has repeatedly violated domestic surveillance laws by rifling through and saving the private financial records of U.S. citizens, BuzzFeed News reported Friday. Several Treasury Department employees have already warned Congress that some citizens have had their banking and financial data illegally searched and stored. Some officers in the National Security Agency reportedly also use the Treasury's intelligence office to illegally access citizens' financial records.
