President Donald Trump will reportedly meet next week with Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the only African-American Republican in the Senate, to discuss race issues and the president’s controversial response to the Charlottesville violence. According to Axios, Scott sought the meeting before the white supremacist-fueled deadly violence in Charlottesville. Scott has blasted Trump on issues involving race. After Trump said “fine people” were protesting on both sides, Scott blasted the president, saying his “moral authority is compromised.”
