The idea to create a “Trump TV” network after the presidential election was initially born out of a dissatisfaction with Fox News’ coverage of Donald Trump, according to a report. A source close to Trump told Bloomberg that Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, threatened then-Fox boss Roger Ailes with the idea. The relationship between the two parties eventually thawed, the source said, but Trump himself started to realize his ability to draw people in. “One thing Jared always tells Donald is that if the New York Times and cable news mattered, he would be at 1 percent in the polls,” the source said. “Trump supporters really don’t have a media outlet where they feel they’re represented.” The goal with a potential Trump TV network would be to “take his message directly to the people.”
