Top executives at NBC News received multiple complaints about former Today show co-host Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual misconduct long before he was terminated this week, the New York Post’s Page Six reported. “Women did complain about his behavior, and there were a lot of closed-door meetings before it was all brushed under the carpet,” a Today show staffer reportedly told the paper. NBC News Chairman Andy Lack has repeatedly defended his claim that this week’s firing came after the “first” complaint was ever registered with the network. “Some women did report it and were scared at the repercussions it would have on their careers,” another source told Page Six. “They complained, and nothing was done.” One female staffer added, “All the women on-air knew... Al Roker knew. They feared Matt.”
