Rick Perry is Not Dead Yet

The spotlight has swung to Herman Cain, but don’t miss the other factor in those new polls: Rick Perry’s support is hard-core. Though his numbers have fallen, nearly half of the voters who support him say they will vote for him no matter what. And 70 percent of Republicans say they are still undecided or may switch to a different candidate than the one they currently support. “Perry has a lot of money, and it's plausible that he can improve his debating performance,” writes New York's Jonathan Chait. “If Republicans aren't flocking to Romney now, it's a sign they want to give every chance for somebody else to emerge.”
