RNC: We'll Keep Steve Wynn’s Money, Even Though He Resigned From Company
The Republican National Committee said that even though Steve Wynn resigned from his hotel company on Tuesday, they will not yet give back his donations. A spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal that they will not return the funds until a Wynn Resorts board investigation finds him guilty of wrongdoing. Wynn, who was the former RNC Finance Chair, gave upwards of $350,000 to the committee late last year. Immediately after Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was revealed to have sexually harassed or assaulted many women, the RNC called upon the Democratic National Committee to return all donations from him. Apparently those rules don’t apply to the RNC.
