Real-estate heir Robert Durst will be extradited to Los Angeles by next summer after he pleaded guilty Wednesday to gun charges in New Orleans. Prosecutors announced Durst will face a murder charge in connection to the 2000 death of his friend Susan Berman. He will be transported to California by mid-August, Los Angeles authorities said. His extradition is contingent on a plea deal and sentencing in a federal weapons case in Louisiana. In the event Durst goes to trial for Berman’s murder, it would be a high-profile and closely watched case, as his long list of alleged murders became the subject of HBO’s popular The Jinx documentary series last year.
