Rogue Fireworks Fly into Colorado Crowd

A Fourth of July fireworks show in Avon, Colorado went haywire Friday when a shell accidentally exploded in its tube, knocked over a rack of fireworks, and sent them rocketing straight into a crowd of about 20,000. Nine spectators sustained minor burns and were treated by medical personnel at the scene. “The crowd was exceptional in its calm response to what could have been a much more serious incident,” Deputy Chief Greg Daly said in a statement.
