Ahead of Monday night's debate in Myrtle Beach, Mitt Romney made an appeal to South Carolina evangelicals, addressing the social issues he rarely brings up on the campaign trail. Romney wasn't the only one at Myrtle Beach's Faith and Freedom Coalition event today—all four other candidates still gunning for the Republican nomination for president made an appearance, signifying just how valuable the evangelical vote will be in South Carolina's upcoming primary on Saturday. The former Massachusetts governor and current Republican frontrunner highlighted not just his views on social issues but the difference between his values and those of President Obama. "This president has tried to pave the path for same-sex marriage to spread across the country," he said. "My view is that we should defend the Defense of Marriage Act and that we should have a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman."
