Romney’s Dishonest but Clever Clinton Praise

At his Daily Beast blog this morning, Michael Tomasky considers Mitt Romney’s recent criticism of President Obama for having “rejected Clintonism and gone back to the lugubrious days of Walter Mondale.” Tomasky suggests that while Romney’s comments are “dishonest,” they are also “clever,” mostly because, he says, it reassures independent voters that “Romney really is a centrist, and they can stop worrying about those crazy things he said when he had those hellhounds on his trail named Perry, Cain, Santorum, etc."
