Rumsfeld Dismisses George H.W. Bush’s Hillary Vote: ‘He’s Up in Years’

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on Thursday dismissed former President George H.W. Bush’s purported decision to vote for Hillary Clinton in the presidential election on the grounds that the elder Bush, 92, is “up in years.” Rumsfeld, who himself is 84 years old and said he is casting his ballot for Trump, told MSNBC that Bush “obviously comes from a totally different cut than Trump.” He characterized the GOP presidential nominee as “maybe not preferred, but acceptable.” Earlier this week, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway also suggested Bush was too old, characterizing him as “the 92-year-old former president.”
