Russia Gives Tanks to Ukraine Rebels

State Department confirms.

The State Department confirmed Friday that Russia has sent a convoy of three T-64 tanks, several BM-21 “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, and other military vehicles to separatists in Ukraine. “This is unacceptable,” said a deputy State Department spokeswoman. “A failure by Russia to de-escalate this situation will lead to additional costs.” The State Department said that Russia will claim the tanks were taken from Ukrainian forces, but no Ukrainian tank units have been operating in that area, making them confident that the tanks came from Russia.
