For Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, economic CPR is as easy as reducing the number of time zones that comprise the world's largest country. On Sunday, Medvedev announced it would drop two of its 11 time zones, moving the parts of the nation closest to Europe, and one Siberian region, an hour closer in time to Moscow. "This can help to breathe new life into business activity," he said. Medvedev had previously pointed to China and the United States as examples of large countries operating more efficiently under fewer time zones.
