Russian athletes have been banned from competing in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio as a result of a scandal surrounding the country's athletes use of performance-enhancing drugs. The McLaren report from last month claimed that Russia had operated a state-sponsored doping program for athletes which led to the suspension announced on Sunday. The International Olympic Committee decided not to give Russia an entire ban from the games themselves.
