Ryan Crocker Charged in Hit-Run DUI

Ryan Crocker has some explaining to do. The former U.S. ambassador pleaded not guilty to hit-and-run and drunk-driving charges after he was arrested earlier this month by Washington State Patrol. Crocker, 63, allegedly crossed two lanes of traffic in his 2009 Ford Mustang convertible and collided with a semi-truck and then drove away, according to a state trooper who told the Associated Press he was “very cooperative but obviously intoxicated.” He registered a .160 blood-alcohol content—twice the legal limit—when cops pulled him over. Crocker served as ambassador to Iraq under President George W. Bush and ambassador to Afghanistan under Obama until last month, when he announced health issues were forcing him to retire.
