Sacha Baron Cohen has offered to pay the fines of the six Czech men who were detained in Kazakhstan’s capital this month for wearing “mankinis” while dressing up as Borat, the actor’s character from the infamous 2006 film of the same name. Borat offended many Kazakhs for its portrayal of the country. The men wore black wigs and the skimpy lime-green ensembles and were trying to take photos in front of an “I Love Astana” sign. They were each reportedly fined $68 for “committing minor hooliganism,” The Guardian reports. Baron Cohen said in a Facebook post, “To my Czech mates who were arrested. Send me your details and proof that it was you, and I’ll pay your fine.”
