The New Orleans Saints, the NFL team alleged to have run a bounty system whereby players were rewarded for injuring their opponents on the football field, will receive their punishment by March 26, according to sources who told Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. It’s not clear what the penalty will be yet, but it’s likely the team will face fines, suspensions, and forfeiture of multiple draft picks. But the Saints might not be the only team punished. An investigation will be held on allegations that the Washington Redskins also had a similar system from 2004 to 2007.
