The lawyer for former Penn State assistant coach and accused child molester Jerry Sandusky said Tuesday that the boy known as Victim No. 1 exaggerated his claims after being “pampered” by prosecutors. Lawyer Joe Amendola tried to poke holes in the story from the alleged victim, whose claims about Sandusky are a major element in the grand jury’s investigation and insisted the boy had reacted poorly to being pushed too hard by Sandusky. Meanwhile, former FBI director Louis Freeh, who has been assigned as the lead investigator into allegations of a coverup at Penn State, has ties to Second Mile, the charity founded by Sandusky. Penn State’s interim football coach, Joe Bradley, said Tuesday he would “certainly want” to permanently become the head football coach—a position Joe Paterno held for over 40 years.
