Love needs no defense: South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford did not break the law when he went to Argentina to visit his mistress. The state’s attorney general announced on Monday that he will not be filing criminal charges against the governor. Sanford has already settled 37 civil charges with the State Ethics Commission, paying $74,000 in fines and $66,223 in reimbursements for airfare and use of state aircraft.
