Nothing says diplomacy like a mouthful of jelly beans. In an attempt to link himself with Ronald Reagan, Rick Santorum’s will deliver a foreign policy address Thursday at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, California. The Great Communicator munched on the candies while in the Oval Office, an indulgence that started as an alternative to smoking. It may be Santorum’s choice of bean more than his choice of venue that matters today. “You can tell a lot about a fella’s character by whether he picks out all of one color or just grabs a handful,” Reagan said.
