Sarah Palin is appealing the dismissal of her defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, BuzzFeed reported Tuesday. A Manhattan federal judge threw out the lawsuit earlier this year, citing Palin’s inability to prove on a “plausible factual basis” that the Times had acted “malicious[ly]” in mistakingly connecting an crosshair-filled ad by Palin’s political action committee to the 2011 shooting of Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. The paper’s lawyers had argued that seeing as the Times issued corrections following the op-ed’s publication, the errors were definitively unintentional.
