The team of scientists was composed of experts in quantum physics and rocket science, among other disciplines. The satellite, which was equipped with a photon receiver, was launched from the Gobi desert last year. While the experiment had been tested in a laboratory setting before, this was the first time an object was able to be successfully teleported from Earth to the atmosphere.
