The Supreme Court announced that it will hear a high-profile religious discrimination case against clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch brought by a Muslim woman who claims she did not get a job with the trendy retailer because the company's dress code didn't allow for her to wear a head scarf. The woman, Samantha Elauf, says she was 17 when she applied for a sales job at an Abercrombie Kids store in a mall in Tulsa in 2008. She says that when an assistant manager sought approval for Elauf's hijab, a supervisor said the head scarf didn't meet the chain's look policy. Elauf wasn't hired. The justices agreed to hear the Obama administration's appeal of a lower-court decision that Abercrombie did not discriminate.
