SEAL Book Contradicts bin Laden Raid

This is going to make the Situation Room awkward. A new book by a former Navy SEAL directly contradicts the White House’s account of the deadly raid that killed Osama bin Laden, reports the Associated Press after receiving an early copy of the book. According to No Easy Day author Mark Bissonnette—writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen—bin Laden was hit in the head when he looked out his bedroom doorway, not after the SEALs climbed the stairs of the compound and bin Laden ducked back into his bedroom, possibly to search for a weapon. Bissonnette says he was a “point man” going up the stairs. Bissonnette writes that Vice President Joe Biden told “lame jokes” in the Situation Room after the raid, reminding the SEAL of “someone’s drunk uncle at Christmas dinner.”
