Even though he’s pleaded guilty to leaking classified information to a mistress, retired Army Gen. David Petraeus is still advising the White House on the war against ISIS. The White House press secretary on Monday confirmed Petraeus’s role as adviser on ISIS “on occasion,” following a Newsweek report that the former CIA director is advising the National Security Council. Two weeks ago, Petraeus reached an agreement with the Justice Department, pleading guilty to one count of mishandling information. Petraeus awaits sentencing next month, but has reportedly had his security clearance revoked.
