Seven women at the top of their games will discuss their own rise to success in media, fashion, and technology—and how to get attention on women's issues from a media that sometimes seems not to care.
Sheryl WuDunn is the first Asian American to win a Pulitzer Prize and co-author, with her husband Nicholas Kristof, of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Nora Ephron has been giving voice to women’s internal monologues for decades, as a celebrated screenwriter, memoirist, and playwright—among her credits are When Harry Met Sally and the current Broadway play Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which she co-wrote with her sister Delia. Lauren Zalaznick is president of NBC Universal Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks, and the marketing brain behind groundbreaking new shows like Top Chef. Susan Lyne is the CEO of Gilt Groupe, a Web site that hosts flash sales of discounted designer clothing and accessories. Victoria Jackson is a makeup entrepreneur and philanthropist. Jane McGonigal is a pioneer in the field of “alternate reality gaming”—videogames that seek to shape real-life social outcomes.
The discussion will be moderated by Tina Brown, co-founder and editor in chief of The Daily Beast.
