Not even the Biebs can protect girlfriend Selena Gomez from Thomas Brodnicki, a 46-year-old man who told his therapist he was going to kill the Wizards of Waverly Place star. Court filings released on Monday say Gomez was granted a restraining order last Thursday by a California judge, who ruled that Brodnicki must stay 100 yards away from Gomez and her workplace until an upcoming hearing on November 4, when the order may be extended for three years Court documents said the LAPD is taking the case “extremely seriously” because of Brodnicki’s history of mental illness (he was taken into mental health custody last month after threatening to “scratch people’s eyes out on the street”). Brodnicki reportedly told his shrink that he had traveled to L.A. to meet Gomez, visited her workplace at least three times, and claimed he had conversations with God about her death.
