Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin, who discussed immigration reform with President Trump on Thursday, confirmed reports that the president called El Salvador, Haiti, and African nations “shithole countries.” Durbin described the remarks as “hate-filled, vile, and racist.” Trump denied his comments in a Friday morning tweet. “He said these hate-filled things, and he said them repeatedly,” Durbin said, adding, “I cannot believe that in the history of the White House in that oval office any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard the president speak yesterday.”
