The Senate is keeping it clean ... or trying. According to aides close to Harry Reid, the Majority Leader plans to file a "clean" bill (one without restrictions) on the debt limit in the next 24 hours. The Senate has until October 17 to raise the debt ceiling—for a year—with votes on the matter likely to begin Friday. The fight is poised to be a messy one. While Senate Democrats refuse to approve a bill that restricts Obamacare, many in the GOP are demanding that an increase in the debt ceiling include spending cuts on the Affordable Care Act.
