The Senate unanimously confirmed Jon Huntsman on Thursday to be the next U.S. ambassador to Russia. Huntsman, a former Utah governor and Republican presidential candidate, previously served as U.S. ambassador to China under President Obama. Huntsman has taken a harder line on Russia than President Donald Trump has, and said during his confirmation hearing that there is “no question” that Russia interfered in the U.S. election last year.
